Notifications & Alerts

  • Some Android devices optimize battery for all apps by blocking some services to save power and extend battery life. As this is a device-specific setting, TimelyBills cannot display a notification when its background service is stopped.
  • To fix this, we need to change a few settings on your Android smartphone:
  • Enable autostart for the TimelyBills app
  • Enable notifications for the app
  • Allow the app to run in the background
  • These settings differ from device to device. Please refer device specific settings below.
  • Open settings on Galaxy device running Android 9 Pie.
  • Tap on “Device care” and then select Battery.
  • Tap on the 3-dots icon in top right corner and select Settings.
  • Turn off the Adaptive battery feature since it automatically limits battery usage of unused application which prevents the app from displaying notifications.
  • Toggle off the “Put unused apps to sleep” option to get notifications without actually using the apps. Should also toggle off the “Auto disable unused apps” option as this sometimes disables the apps if not used for some time.
  • -If still not receiving notifications, then check out the “Sleeping apps” list.
